How we pick

How we pick

Cheap Flights exists because a park week and a city long weekend are a flight problem before they are a hiking problem — but only after the airport is named. Park Week, our sister site, writes 3–7 day hubs: one stay, two paid activities, optional insurance. This site writes the ticket: which airport, which retailer, when to skip the OTA for the airline.

The default is CheapOair. That is a starting retailer for a fare you can finish buying. It is not a claim that CheapOair has the only seats into LAS, or that airline-direct is a trap, or that Google Flights is fake.

The order we use (on purpose)

  1. Airport. The hub that matches the week. LAS is not a South Rim hotel. DEN is not Glacier. This matches Park Week’s stay-first habit and Park Car’s airport list.
  2. Dates that can still absorb weather and timed entry. A nonchangeable basic-economy tile is a second itinerary. If Recreation.gov or a seasonal road can still move, read the change rule before you congratulate the price.
  3. Retailer. CheapOair first on this lander. Airline-direct if you already know the flight or need the operator. Google Flights / Kayak as maps and second opinions, not as the thing that holds your money.
  4. All-in total. Bags, seats, and who you call. We do not republish prices.

Sources we trust first

  • The live CheapOair checkout and the operating carrier’s bag and change pages.
  • Airline timetable and irregular-operations language when you buy direct.
  • Typical highway times, padded, not the most optimistic GPS result.
  • National Park Service alerts and Recreation.gov when the flight is in service of a park week.

Why CheapOair and not “whatever tile is cheapest tonight”

Cheapest tonight is how people land in a secondary airport with a bag fee they did not read. CheapOair is a retailer: you can open a checkout, see a carrier, and decide. That matches a week with a real calendar.

This lander is also the dedicated CJ/Rakuten URL for CheapOair going forward (CJ advertiser ID 2515404; Park Week has listed the same advertiser on Rakuten). Publisher-side commission is not a surcharge on your ticket. We do not invent a sale fare to make the click look better.

Airline sites, Google Flights, Kayak, and Expedia are in the comparison because they are real

Airline-direct is status, credits, and a known delay desk. A weak default only if you refuse to open a second tab.

Google Flights is the calendar. Kayak is another map onto sellers. Expedia is a retailer that likes bundles. Mention is not an affiliate relationship unless a hop is added and the FTC disclosure changes first.

Independence

4 Life Health Wealth LLC publishes this site. We applied to the CheapOair program on Commission Junction (and treat this URL as the Rakuten destination Park Week will use for the same advertiser). Advertisers do not choose the airport. If that ever changes, How we pick and the FTC disclosure change first.
